virus found in Mexico to eliminate brain tumors

virus found that brain tumors removed
According to the journal Neuroscience, a group of U.S. scientists have discovered a virus that genes play specialized in location and removal of brain tumors in mice. Moreover, and perhaps one of the most important is that these genes left virtually intact healthy tissue and focus their attack exclusively in cancer cells. According
researchers at Yale School of Medicine , the technique to guide the activity of the virus, identified as "vesicular stomatis" could give way to a new treatment for brain cancer in humans. "The study shows that the virus can penetrate the brain where it reaches cells that have migrated away from the main tumor," said Harald Sontheimer, an oncologist at the University of Alabama .
The scientists injected cancer cells in rodents and then grafted the virus. Using fluorescent proteins saw that it has spread leaving behind a trail of dead cancer cells. Scientists said the virus did not attack normal cells or other human cells grafted into the brains of mice.
